NINJA FOODI RICE TIPS THAT YOU MAY NOT KNOW
1. You can cook rice in Ninja Foodi and get the same as cooking in a rice cooker (even better)
Both the rice cooker and the Ninja Foodi pot can cook your rice. However, the rice is finished earlier, saving more time than a conventional rice cooker. If the rice cooker takes 1 hour to finish your rice, Ninja Foodi rice only takes 30 minutes. More surprising is the perfect adhesion and temperature; even Ninja Foodi rice can give you better results.
Many customers ask us whether instant rice can be used in the Ninja Foodi pot. The answer is no. The temperature and time of the Ninja Foodi pot are set to suit the raw rice cooking mode. For instant rice, you can use the Ninja Foodi microwave to finish it.
2. How many cups of rice should be cooked in the Ninja Foodi pot?
Because the inside of the Ninja Foodi pot is quite wide, if it is cooked too little, the rice will spread thinly to the bottom of the pot; although it will not burn, it will lose its aesthetics.
Many people live alone, so they choose to cook one cup of rice for meals. But when you open the pot of Ninja Foodi, you will feel that your meal is no longer delicious. So we recommend cooking at least two cups of rice at a time to get the most effective Ninja Foodi rice. You will have a great meal with Ninja Foodi rice and be full of energy.
3. Should you wash rice before cooking?
Excess starch can make your rice more mushy than usual. When using a conventional rice cooker, you should wash the rice to get the rice cooker with perfect adhesion. But if you cook Ninja Foodi rice, you don’t need to spend time washing the rice. The rice is completely soft and supple, quality assurance.
4. You can freeze Ninja Foodi rice to save it instead of throwing it away
If you have too much Ninja Foodi rice after eating and don’t know how to solve it, don’t worry. All you need to do now is prepare a food box or bag. Note that your rice needs space to move, so don’t overfill it, or it will be difficult to separate. You should balance the area by dividing the Ninja Foodi rice portions to preserve.
Freezing rice is very convenient for you. When you need rice and don’t want to start cooking, take it out, add 1 – 2 tablespoons of water, and then pop it in the Ninja Foodi microwave. Depending on the amount of rice you want to defrost, adjust the time accordingly. The defrosting time can be 2 minutes or more if the amount of rice is large.
5. Ninja Foodi rice can be cooked from many different types of rice
You can cook from many different types of rice to make Ninja Foodi rice, whether it’s white rice, brown rice, black rice, wild rice, or red rice. However, each type of rice has different cooking times and temperatures. Here are the right times and temperatures for some types of rice that you can refer to complete a great Ninja Foodi rice dish:
- White rice (refined rice): 1 cup rice + 1 cup water; cook at high pressure for 2 minutes, then rest for 10 minutes.
- Brown rice: 1 cup of rice + 2.5 cup of water depending on the type of short or long rice; Cook at high pressure for 15 minutes, and then brew for 10 minutes.
- Wild rice: 1 cup rice + 1 cup water; cook for 22 minutes at high pressure; Natural incubation for 10 minutes.
- Arborio Rice: 1 cup rice + 3 cups water; cook for 7 minutes at high pressure; Natural incubation for 10 minutes.
- Basmati rice: the same recipe as white rice, 1 cup of rice + 1 cup of water; cook at pressure for 2 minutes, and naturally incubate for 10 minutes.
6. You can change the liquid for a special Ninja Foodi rice
You usually will cook Ninja Foodi rice with filtered water? And your rice dish will only have the natural sweetness of rice. To be more creative and make your Ninja Foodi rice more attractive, you can think of replacing filtered water with another liquid. It can be bone broth, vegetable broth,… whatever kind of broth you like.
But not every liquid can replace filtered water in the recipe. You should not use thick liquid for this rice cooking. It will cause your rice not to have enough water to absorb to expand the rice grains, causing the rice to cook unevenly and possibly burn at the bottom of the pot. So, be smart in choosing liquid instead of water to ensure that you can create the perfect rice dish.
THE PERFECT NINJA FOODI RICE RECIPES
There are many Ninja Foodi rice recipes. However, you need to choose which formula to achieve the perfect results wisely. Here, we will give you the most amazing Ninja Foodi rice recipes without you having to consider which recipe is the best. Let’s wait together!
You can choose whatever rice you have; you can choose to wash the rice or not. If you have time, you can wash the rice once. The amount of rice depends on the needs of your family. In this recipe, we selected the most common type of rice – white rice in the amount of one cup.
The amount of water depends on the type of rice and the volume of rice that you use to cook Ninja Foodi rice. You can choose any type of liquid that can be cooked, as long as it matches the recipe, of course. It can be chicken broth, pork bone broth, vegetable broth,…
With the amount of rice in one cup as above, we use 2.5 cups of chicken broth so that Ninja Foodi rice after being cooked will be more fragrant, sweet and glossy.
1.3. Salted butter:
Yes or no. Butter will make your Ninja Foodi rice richer and add more flavor to this rice dish. Here we use ¾ tablespoon of salted butter for one cup of white rice.
To ensure the flavor of the rice, you can add a little salt and pepper to make the rice dish more special. If you are tired of the bland rice dish cooked with only water, you can try adding seasoning. It will delight you with this recipe. But if you love traditional white rice recipes and are familiar with the original taste of white rice, you can skip the seasoning. The ratio of salt and pepper required for one cup of white rice is ¼:¼.
2. How to proceed
Step 1: Prepare a clean, ready-to-cook Ninja Foodi pot with a non-stick mixing spoon.
Step 2: Add the prepared ingredients to the Ninja Foodi pot and stir well.
Step 3: Close the pressure cap and close the pressure relief valve. This step is essential because it will help your rice cook evenly and ensure no problems during the cooking process.
Step 4: Adjust the cooking pressure to high pressure for 2 minutes for white rice and 15 minutes for brown rice. You can refer to the information about the temperature and cooking time that we provide above.
Step 5: When the 2 minutes are completed, there will be a beep to let you know that the rice is cooked. Your job now is to let the pressure discharge naturally for 10 minutes. At the end of 10 minutes, you need to release all the remaining pressure in the pot and open the lid.
Step 6: Stir with a wooden spoon or whatever spoon you have. However, we recommend using the non-stick spatula that comes with the Ninja Foodi pot to ensure the rice does not stick to the spoon and the non-stick coating of the inner pot is safe. Stirring the rice evenly helps to break the bonds of the rice grains and prevent the rice from becoming mushy.
If the rice is cooked to your liking, you can start enjoying it right away. But if you haven’t reached the desired level, you can cover the pot for a few minutes to let the rice cook better with the steam inside. Then you can drop it and start enjoying it.
We hope this Ninja Foodi rice recipe can help your family’s meals become richer and more special than the original white rice. We have brought you this wonderful recipe with the desire to bring you many healthy recipes that spark your cooking inspiration—wishing you a wonderful and happy meal with your family and loved ones!
